Hi, I'm Matthew.

I don't believe people are broken or need fixing. Instead, I walk alongside you, offering perspectives to help you reconnect with your authentic self.

I'm a BACP-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over five years' experience working with adults and young people (16+).

My approach is integrative-relational, drawing on a range of approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapies, underpinned by Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), with an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as an important part of the process of healing and growth.

I'm also a qualified EMDR therapist and bring mindfulness and meditation into my practice where it feels helpful.

I am expereinced in supporting individuals with a wide range of experiences, challenges and emotional difficulties.

I specialise in working with, but am not limited to:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Grief and loss

  • Anxiety, OCD and psychological distress

  • Addiction and recovery

  • Neurodiversity

My interest in this work isn't just professional — it's rooted in personal lived experience with mental health. That shapes everything about how I show up for the people I work with.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years as a professional musician — touring the UK and Europe, playing Glastonbury and South by Southwest, and composing for film and TV. That chapter gave me a deep appreciation for creativity, connection and the many ways people make sense of their lives. It still informs my work today.

I also hosted The Journey Home Podcast, exploring addiction, mental health and the shared human experiences that shape us.

Whatever brings you here — you are welcome. My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel free to explore your experiences at your own pace, with no pressure, no judgement, and no rush.
